Reality Checkpoints is the blog/on-line office for our consulting consortium, Strategic Reality Group. We’re three women who have been around the block more than a few times, with about 75 years of combined experience in strategic planning, business development, product management, marketing, Finance, HR, and organizational development.
In addition to being consultants to a wide range of clients across the U.S., we’ve also held corporate executive positions; serve on university faculties; are “serial entrepreneurs;” serve on non-profit boards; and do extensive volunteer work. Our respective client lists include global corporations such as Hewlett-Packard, Nortel, and Mitel/Gandalf; entrepreneurial start-ups; New Mexico “Mom & Pops” and non-profits such as United Way, Habitat for Humanity, and Roadrunner Food Bank.
Sandra (Sandy) Cody: Sandy has over 25 years experience in organizational development and Human Resources management. She holds a Masters Degree in Management and completed postgraduate work in Total Quality Management. She works with organizations of all sizes, private, public and non-profit, focusing on systems and processes for effective organization structure and human resource management. Sandy is also an awarding adjunct faculty member at Webster University and University of New Mexico Anderson School of Management, Certificate Programs. She is the President Elect of NAWBO-NNM. Jean Gibson: As a “CFO to Go” Jean provides the power of a chief financial officer on a part-time, as-needed basis to all sizes and types of clients. She has more than twenty years experience as a corporate financial and administrative manager in the USA and Canada. Since launching her New Mexico consulting firm, she has worked with numerous companies to build their administrative and financial infrastructures, recover embezzled funds, develop strategic plans for expansion, and evaluate the potential viability of new business concepts. She has written many business plans for start-ups, spin-offs, and turn-arounds. Jean has served in key positions with non-profit groups and is a former Executive Director and Treasurer of Greater Albuquerque Habitat for Humanity.
Mary Schmidt: With over 25 years of experience, Mary has held executive positions in business strategy, development and product management for several global corporations, including NEC, Nortel, and Unisys. As a consultant, her clients have ranged from a two-man software start-up and Habitat for Humanity to major corporations such as Mitel/Gandalf and Hewlett Packard. Mary is active in the Albuquerque community and served on the board of the YWCA of the Middle Rio Grande from 2003 to 2005, for which she chaired the 2003 development committee. She was the 2003-2004 Vice President of Corporate & Economic Development for NAWBO-NNM (National Association of Women Business Owners – Northern New Mexico).
